President John Mahama will today swear into office COP John Kudalor as the substantive Inspector of General of Police.
Mr. Kudalor has since November last year been acting in the capacity.
A statement on the Facebook wall of the Flagstaff House Friday said “President John Mahama will today, Friday, swear into office Mr. John Kudalor as Inspector General of Police”.
Until his appointment, COP John Kudalor was Director General of Police Operations, a position he held for more than three years.
Kudalor has a 20-year wealth of experience in the police service and was in charge of monitoring in the 2012 general elections.
He replaces Mohammed Alhassan who has commenced his accumulated leave as he prepares to go on retirement.
The police service has a convention of appointing a new IGP in an acting capacity by ushering out the incumbent with a terminal leave.
