The Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has forwarded the report of a five-member committee which investigated an allegation of abuse of office against CHRAJ commissioner Lauretta Vivian Lamptey to President John Mahama.

According to a statement from the Judiciary Secretary, Justice Alex B. Poku-Acheampong, the report was submitted to the Chief Justice today, September 30, 2015 in line with Article 146 (4) of the 1992 Constitution.

“Pursuant to Article 146 (5) of the Constitution, the Chief Justice has duly forwarded the report to President John Dramani Mahama,” the statement added.

The Commissioner of Human Rights and Administrative Justice has been off her post since January 2015 after a prima facie case was established against her.

The embattled commissioner was accused of expending some $4,200 as monthly rent for 33 months on her hotel accommodation, while over GHS180,000 was being spent to renovate her official bungalow.
