Former President John Dramani Mahama was in Nigeria over the week to join a few other former African leaders at the book launch of former Nigeria leader Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Dr Jonathan’s book titled ‘My Transition Hours’ was launched in Abuja.

According to Ghana’s former leader, the book contains “incredible” material on the life of the man who served as head of state of Africa’s most populous country between 2010 and 2015.

Mr Mahama foreworded the book.

The two former leaders were good friends while in office.

They both ascended the presidency of their respective nations under circumstances that appear to be similar.

While Mr Mahama succeeded Prof John Evans Atta Mills after his death in July, 2012, Mr Jonathan succeeded Umaru Musa Yar’Adua after his death in Saudi Arabia in May, 2010.

But they failed to hold on to their seats with Dr Jonathan leaving office a year before Mr Mahama lost Ghana’s 2016 elections.

Other former leaders at the book launch were Sierra Leone’s Ernest Bai Koroma and Nigeria’s General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
