Mahama is surrounded by incompetent policy advisers – Dela Coffie

Former President John Dramani Mahama may kiss another humiliating defeat in the 2020 elections for surrounding himself with incompetent policy advisors, Dela Coffie has said.

The ardent critic of the former President appears livid over the calibre of party leaders offering advice to John Dramani Mahama.

“I am pretty sure these calls are generally being made with a cocktail or beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other sitting on the tailgate of an oversized gas hog truck staring into a campfire. These guys have preconceived ideas and likely don’t know that this is the same NPP which grossly outclassed us in all front in 2016.

How can you win with the same crop of incompetent advisors, thinking, mindset and the mistakes that cost you 2016?” he questioned in his latest epistle.

Dela Coffie further found it ridiculous that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of the former President would be confident in beating the governing New Patriotic Party in next year’s elections when the party and its flagbearer keep repeating the mistakes that caused their defeat in the 2016 elections noting that there is no single policy communicator in the camp of the former President.

“There is no single policy communicator in the candidate’s corner. At best we have a bunch of unexciting and over ambitious elements leading the conversation. These men never elevate the conversation. They only takes it to a darker place.

We pretend as if 2020 will be a walk in the park, but I am actually looking at a very dire situation. I am one man, and I don’t pretend to know it all or have all the answers. But, sometimes I do wonder why it’s so difficult for many to see the very clear writing on the wall. Every time I peruse the numbers from 2016 elections, I worry because they represent deep troubles and knowing we risk going back with the same mindsets, means we very well will hover around the 2016 results because we can’t expect different results when we continue doing the same things.”
