The Eastern regional minister Mavis Ama Frimpong has said the Eastern region has received its fair share of development under the Presidency of John Mahama.

According to her, the numerous infrastructural projects undertaken in the region over the last few years are indications of the President’s commitment to the region.

Speaking to Starr News during the recent tour of the President to the region, Mrs Ama Frempong said critics of the NDC may continue playing propaganda but the achievement of the Mahama-led administration is there for all to see.

She said the three day tour of the president in the region witnessed a reverse of the ‘Accounting to the People tour’ since the chiefs and religious leaders of the area instead, gave accounts of the President’s achievements, in their respective communities.

She added that the performance of the government has mad it possible for the NDC to pursue its agenda 50/50 in the region come November.

"The NPP can choose to close their eyes on the numerous developments across the country and lie to their supporters only, because many Ghanaians who have seen these projects in their communities cannot be deceived and I am grateful to the President that he has given the region its fair share of development and transformational agenda which has simplified grounds for the Agenda 50/50 target".

President Mahama ended his three days 'Accounting to the People Tour' in the Eastern region on Thursday at the Affram Plains North district after commissioning a ferry and water taxi to replace the 10 year-old damaged ferry.

The president visited districts including, Lower Manya Krobo, Asuogyaman ,Abirem, Akyem Ofoase, Abetifi ,Affram Plains North and South.
