Mahama did not build 16 hospitals - Minister

NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Boakye Antwi says he will resign from his position if it is really true that Ex-President John Mahama’s past administration built 16 hospitals that need to be commissioned.

According to him no appointee in President Akufo-Addo’s government would never influence the stalling of the hospitals that need to be commissioned as members of the past administration claim.

“All the agitations from members of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] are witch-hunting moves against the President and his government. We will not mind their propagandist motives; rather we will remain focused, thinking of how to fix the economy as we are doing now,” he said.

Explaining further on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ panel discussion, the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing indicated that “government is prevented from embarking on a lot of key projects due to lack of finances.”

Eugene Boakye Antwi affirmed that, “Ghana is facing strong crisis to the extent that about 90% of our current Ministers operate from their homes; therefore it is never true that we are playing politics with built infrastructure when we need them, especially in the health sector”.
