Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak says Members of Parliament have now assumed the role as family heads for their constituents.

According to him, MPs are over burdened with a number of family issues that affect their work and effectiveness as Legislators.

He made this known in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

The legislator indicated that although such family issues should not be sent to the doorstep of Members of Parliament, the fear of losing their seats make them swallow the issues try to address them with their measure resources.

He mentioned that it’s high time Members of Parliament are made to perform their core mandates to the nation devoid of people burdening them with their personal demands

“To get work done, you don’t have to engage in unnecessary issues in your constituency. You don’t have to go for outdooring and dash out monies if you want to do your work effectively as an MP”, he advised fellow MP’s.
