MP proposes solution to Alavanyo/Nkonya crisis

Ho, April 27, GNA - Dr Kwabena Adjei, Member of Parliament (MP) for Biakoye says a detailed and unbiased write-up on the historical circumstances of the land dispute between the people of Alavanyo and Nkonya could help independent mediators fashion out a settlement package acceptable to both sides.

He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after attending the Volta Regional Security Council (REGSEC) meeting last Thursday on the protracted dispute, which has been creating tension between the two communities in recent times.

Dr Adjei said recent skirmishes, as well as past unrests over a disputed land was unnecessary.

He, therefore, called on people on both sides who might have armed themselves ready for confrontations to lay down their arms, and rather allow their leaders to find an amicable solution to the conflict.
