The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency in the Savannah Region Hon Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has visited Registration centers in the first phase of the Voter Registration in the Constituency to ascertain the successes and challenges of the compilation of a new Voter’s register for the forthcoming December elections.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi on their morning show on Monday 30th June, 2020, the MP said he went round to make sure all that is necessarily needed to put in places to make everybody’s name gets into the register has been done.

He further stated that he was impressed on how the registration exercise in his Constituency was going and has urged all in the Constituency to cooperate with the Electoral Commission (EC) and also follow the protocols on the COVID-19.

Speaking on the deployment of military men to the Bole to Chache border road, the MP said he is not aware of that though, but that he will surely visit Chache and will meet with the soldiers to have a word with them.

Alhaji Yussif Sulemana again urged all to feel comfortable because the military men have been brought to the border to make sure nobody from anywhere crosses to Ghana for the registration.

“I have not been told or aware those military men are in my territory, but I want to urge all to feel comfortable. Those military men are not here to harm anybody, but has come to protect our border in Chache. They won’t allow anybody to cross here for any confusion”; the MP said.

Registration started early in the morning and the process was very slow with most applicants complaining bitterly to Nkilgi Fm on how the queues were moving slowly.

Some wondered the six days given by the Electoral Commission will be enough for everybody to get his Voter’s Identification card in their polling stations.
