MP donates TV for Ghana 2008 viewing

Forikrom (B/A), Feb. 5, GNA- Mr James Osei-Kwabena, Assembly Member for Forikrom in Techiman Municipality has commended Mr Addai Simons, MP for Techiman South for his immense contributions to the development of the area.

He said the MP's contributions had had a positive impact on the lives of the people, with a tremendous improvement in their standard of living.

Mr. Osei-Kwabena made the commendation when he received a 29-inch colour television donated by the MP out of his share of the common fund to the people of Forikrom to enable them to watch the on-going Ghana 2008 football tournament.

He recounted that the MP contributed GH¢50,000 towards an electrification project in the community and GH¢350 for the construction of a borehole for the people of Gyidiem and Anomatoa. Mr Osei-Kwabena said the MP also donated sets of jerseys to the people of Kaniago, Forikrom and Fiaso and called on all to appreciate his efforts.

Mr Nicholas Kyeremeh, Chairman of the Unit Committee urged the people to eschew tendencies that would not augur well for the progress of the area and support the MP in his drive to uplift Forikrom. Nana Kwaw Adams, Twafohene of Forikrom, noted that the MP's efforts were unprecedented, saying "the work of Mr. Simmons towards the promotion of the area's development is "superb". He advised the MP to continue with the good work he had started since the people were aware of what he had done for them and were ready to vote for him again in the next general election.
