MP Gives TV Set To School

Tanyigbe (V/R), -9 June Mr Kofi Attor, MP for Ho Central, today presented a 1.5 million cedis colour television set to the Tanyigbe SSS in the Ho district. It was bought by the Ho district assembly at a subsidised price from the Ministry of Information. Mr Attor told the students that the school was selected because of its excellent academic performance last year and hoped that apart from providing them with entertainment, the set will help them to keep abreast with current affairs. It should, however, not detract them from their studies. Mr Richard Atta, Senior Prefect, appealed to the government to provide schools offering agriculture with tractors to enable them to undertake large scale farming. Mr Daniel Nyalemegbe, Headmaster, thanked the District Assembly for the gesture and called on the government to provide the school with a well-equipped science laboratory. Mr Attor later presented 40 blankets from the National Disaster Relief Committee to victims of a fire outbreak a few months ago at Dokpokope, near Ho.
