MCE cuts sod for CHPS compound, KG block

Residents of Yokuenor and Kodjonya in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal of the eastern region will soon benefit from a health facility and classroom block, thanks to the Municipal Chief Executive for the area who cut sod for a CHPS compound and a 2-unit classroom block respectively for the two communities.

Simon Kweku Tetteh cut sod for the commencement of construction works for a CHPS compound and a Kindergarten block for the Foreman Memorial Presbyterian School at Odumase-Krobo.

The new classroom block, to be completed in a couple of months, will have various ancillary facilities including a library, office and store to facilitate teaching and learning.

The MCE who praised the president, Nana Akuffo Addo for his vision for education in Ghana called on the citizenry to continue to support the president to bring more developmental projects to the municipality.

He also urged the contractor to deliver the project on schedule for the benefit of pupils of the school, adding that other ongoing school projects in the municipal would be completed soon and urged pupils to make good use of the facilities.

Honourable Simon Tetteh said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo prioritized education and had initiated several policies to not only to improve teaching and learning but also to make education more attractive and affordable to all.

He cited the implementation of the Free Senior High School Programme as an example and said there was no excuse for any child not to be in school.

Meanwhile, madam Brigitte Adiesani, Deputy Director in charge of Planning and Statistics at Lower Manya Krobo expressed her pleasure at the construction of the KG block which she noted was crucial to promoting the cause of education in Ghana. She added that the construction of the facility gives hope for more of such developmental projects to assist in the educational drive in the municipality.

Madam Adiesani while lauding the MCE for his assistance towards improving on education in the municipal through his immeasurable support for the Ghana Education Service said it was imperative to ensure the establishment of solid background for kindergarten pupils through the provision of solid infrastructure.

The assembly chief also broke grounds for construction works on a CHPS compound at Yokuenor. The facility is expected to replace the old CHPS facility in the area which the MCE indicated will provide basic and quality healthcare for the people.

The MCE while expressing his gratitude to the president for providing the health facility for the people of Yokuenor was hopeful that it would provide the necessary and basic healthcare for them.

The construction of the CHPS compound brings to three the number of health facilities initiated by the MCE this year after breaking grounds for the construction of a clinic at Wawase and Oborpah Gyekiti.

He charged the contractor to ensure speedy execution of the project to ensure that the staff move from the old structure to the new place which will provide a conducive CHPS compound for better healthcare delivery services for the people.

Assembly man for the Yohe Electoral area, Tetteh Kwao who joined the Municipal Chief Executive to cut the sod expressed relief at the start of the project. The need for a health facility, he said prompted him to petition the Honourable Simon Kweku Tetteh who listened to their request hence the provision of the facility.

He therefore expressed his appreciation to the assembly chief for coming to the aid of residents and expressed the hope that the CHPS compound when completed will address the health concerns of the community.
