On Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006, the day after the MCA signing ceremony, The Embassy of Ghana held a cocktail reception in honor of President Kufour at the ballroom of the Willard Inter Continental Hotel. The event was attended by many Ghanaians all over the USA and it was an opportunity for them to meet the lawmakers and members of cabinet who accompanied the President from Ghana to the MCA signing ceremony in Washington. President Kufour took the opportunity to thank the audience for such a huge attendance. There were remarks by H. E. Fritz Poku and Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom. Hon. Felix Adjapong, Majority Leader introduced the members of Parliament to the audience.
