M D C C Pastor In Trouble

Agona Swedru -- The Agona Swedru District Police Commander is investigating a case in which Rev M B Aidoo Quansah and his wife Madam Faustina Amoah, both of the Musama Disco Christo Church (M D C C) are accused of abducting a 16-year-old JSS 3 student from Gomoa Mozano, in the Central Region.

The two are also being interrogated on how they allegedly made the victim Janet Aikins drunk at the Ewusiwa Gardens with the view to influencing her to implicate Akaboha III in a sex scandal.

The Swedru District Police Commander discloses that investigations are going ahead and the couple will be arraigned before the Swedru Circuit Court as soon as investigations are complete.

Rev Quansah is one of the few disgruntled people in the church who in recent times led a group in a bid to remove Akaboha III from office as General Head and Prophet of the church.

According to the District Police Officer, A S P Alex Adae, Rev.Quansah, and his wife were traveling to Agona Swedru from Mozano on Sunday, March 16, 2003. They picked the victim, Janet Aikins (alias Accorley), to accompany the without informing her parents.

He disclosed that on the way, they asked Janet Aikins several questions as to whether she has ever had any sexual relationship with Akaboha III, the General Head of the Church, but she answered in the negative.

ASP Adae said, when they arrived at Swedru, the couple drove the girl to the Ewusiwa Gardens where Rev Aidoo Quansah, allegedly, gave her Guinness to influence her so that she could implicate Akaboha in the sex scandal.

He stated that soon after taking the beer, the victim became drunk and started behaving abnormally and the couple could not accomplish their purpose. Actually, they became embarrassed at the girl’s unusual behavior so they drove her back to Mozano.

According to the Police, on reaching the Mozano D/A Primary School, Rev Quansah told the girl to alight there and walk home so they would not be seen or suspected of what had happened.

Janet Aikins , according to the police, confessed to her friends that Rev Quansah had given her a drink, which had made her very weak. It was reported to her mother who quickly informed the Gomoa Eshien Police who, in turn, referred the matter to the Swedru District Police for the appropriate action to be taken against the couple.
