Lt. Gen Smith’s 67 Brilliant ‘Children’

...who were illegally smuggled into the Armed Forces!

They are 67, 6 females and 61 males. 66 of them are overaged and one without the Mandatory requirement that is the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE); they all failed the basic requirement required of them to pass as recruits to become soldiers in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Under the watch of Mr. 'Transparent' Lt. Gen Joseph Henry Smith, the Defence Minister, who promised a transparent process on the 10th of June 2009 when he appeared before Parliament to answer questions about the fate of the 420 potential recruits already selected for training by the previous government, he said, public outcry was largely part of the reasons why the 'death warrant' of the 420 was signed.sss

He went on to state that they could not read nor write but were recruited. Just over a year on, a letter signed by Colonel JKT Caesar dated 20th of July 2010 with reference number GHQ/2034/801/RECS raised questions about these 67 potential recruits who already have regimental numbers and are at the training centre waiting to pass-out on the 8th of December 2010. This means that Mr. 'Transparent' Lt. Gen. Smith has recruited 67 persons who cannot read, write and express themselves better in the queen's language.

Below are the Regimental Numbers (not in order) and Names of Mr. 'Transparent' Lt. Gen Smith's Kids.
