The Lower-Volta Association of Small-Scale Miners & Farmers has announced plans to organise an International Livestock Market on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, at the market grounds in Volivo-Lanor, Shai-Osudoku District, Greater Accra Region.

The event is expected to attract livestock farmers, traders, investors, veterinarians, agribusiness operators, policymakers, and other stakeholders from across Ghana.

Godwin Awudzi, CEO of the association, said the initiative aims to create a structured and reliable platform for livestock trading while promoting best practices in the sector.

“This international livestock market is designed to promote sustainable livestock farming, improve market access for small-scale farmers, and create meaningful trade opportunities for both local and international participants,” he stated.

The market will also provide a platform for stakeholder engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaboration on areas such as animal health management, improved breeding, feed production, and value chain development.

Awudzi added that the association is committed to supporting policies that enhance food security, strengthen rural economies, and encourage youth and women participation in livestock farming and agribusiness.

He called on industry players, development partners, and the public to support and participate in the event, stressing that collective efforts are needed to build a resilient and sustainable livestock sector in Ghana.
