Louisville sisters arrive in Accra

Accra, June 18, GNA - Africa Global Sister Cities Foundation (AGSCF), a chapter of the Sister Cities International on Tuesday received in Accra a ten-member delegation from Louisville in the United States to consolidate friendship and harness opportunities for development.

Mr. Prince Kwame Kludjeson, President of the AGSCF said the African Chapter of the foundation which was inaugurated a month ago was to strengthen sister cities relation in Africa, monitor development projects and find out areas that the international body could assist. He said Louisville-Tamale Sister City relationship had been a model of good and standard support from partners outside and added that future programmes should enhance the lives of the youth particularly in technology.

Mr. Kludjeson noted the need for sister city communities, especially in Africa to have facilities that were similar to their counterparts abroad.

Dr. Susan Herlin, Historian, African Sister Cities called for more research to ensure detailed presentation of the African history.

She called for sustainability of projects undertaken so far by the foundation to ensure its maximum benefits to Africans and the world at last.
