The First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has arrived in Washington, DC, to participate in the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit, a gathering aimed at shaping a safer and more equitable digital environment for children.

The information was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

“Her Excellency Lordina Dramani Mahama is in Washington, DC, at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States, to attend the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit,” the statement noted.

According to the statement, “The two-day summit, convened by First Lady Melania Trump, brings together first spouses from across the world to discuss strategies for a more secure and equitable digital future for children.”

Ahead of the summit, Lordina Mahama reaffirmed Ghana's commitment to promoting responsible digital practices.

“Ghana stands ready to ensure technology becomes a force for empowerment, not endangerment, for every child. Our children’s future is our shared moral duty and generational responsibility,” the statement added.

The meeting is expected to explore collaborative approaches to tackling online risks for children, while also leveraging technology to support child development and education.
