London-Based Group Threatens United Rail Boss

A London-based group, calling itself Ghana and Overseas Railway Engineers (GORE), has threatened to assassinate Mr Martin Burrow, the Director of United Rail International, if he accepts to rehabilitate and manage the railway sector.

In a fax to Graphic, dated April 15, 2005, it said,

?We the Ghana Railway Engineers, both in Ghana and overseas, will not allow you to take the concession from the government and we are warning you to pull out from the talks. If you do not pull out of our railways, you will have yourselves to blame. We will try to assassinate you. We will kill all of you, including those who channelled the project to you.?
