Head coach of Liberty Professionals, Reginald Asante says he is content with his side’s performance which saw them beat Dreams FC by a lone goal at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman on matchday 6 of the Normalization Committee’s Special Competition.

Captain Simon Zibo’s ferocious strike on the half-hour mark beat Dreams goalkeeper George Amoako as the hosts went into the break with the lead. The Scientific Soccer Lads as Liberty are affectionately called held on firmly to emerged victors after 90 minutes of end to end action as the Dawu based team failed in all attempts to grab an equalizer.

According to the coach, two players who were due to start the game pulled out of the squad after picking up injuries during the warm-up session prior to the game.

Speaking after the game, Coach Asante said, “Honestly it was really a tough game, there was a problem right from the start of the warm-up, our two regular players Elvis Kyei Baffour and Emmanuel Addo got injured and we had to change tactics.”

“It was a good game, we gave some of the guys an opportunity to play so that we can see their level. Dreams played well in the second half but we dominated in the first half. Aside from that, we won because we have the home support,” he noted.

Liberty Professionals will travel to the Anyinase Camp Park to lock horns with Karela United for week 7 fixtures on April 28.
