Let the death of Christ and resurrection reform us - Hammah

Mr Mike Hammah, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has called on Ghanaians to let the death and the resurrection of Christ Jesus reform them and help sustain the country’s democratic dispensation.

He said without sacrifice, reconciliation cannot take place, adding that as people “we should bury our differences and forge ahead towards the growth of the nation.

Mr Hammah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, made the call when speaking at four separate church services in Winneba during the Easter festivity.

The churches are Christians Divine Church, Apostolic Church Ghana, Assemblies of God Church and the Pentecost Church, all in Winneba.

He said the resurrection of Christ is a symbol of love, peace, unity and forgiveness; and urged Christians to lead lives worthy of emulation adding that the church has a unique role in the development of the country, and churches ought to continue their prayer for peaceful elections in December.

Mr Hammah said, government is committed to ensure that peace is maintained in the country and urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause mayhem in the December elections.

Rev. Frank Awuah Fordjour, District Pastor of the Pentecost Church at Abasaraba-Winneba, asked Christians to lead Christian and worthy lives.

He advised politicians to create an environment of decency, truth, love and peace in the December elections, adding that some of their utterances on the radio and in the newspapers do not promote peace and must be stopped.

Rev. Emmanuel Wiredu Nkrumah, Central Regional Superintendent of Assemblies of God, urged political parties to go about their campaigns in a more civilized manner to sustain the peace.**
