Let's uphold the principles of June 4 - Blay

Ejisu (Ash), June 4, GNA - Ghanaians have been urged to insist on social justice, accountability and transparency from public office holders. Mr John Blay Junior, Chairman of the Ejisu-Juaben branch of the United Cadres Front, said these principles which gave birth to the June 4 uprising, must be protected.

He was addressing a cross section of cadres at Ejisu after a three-hour clean up exercise at the Ejisu Government hospital to mark 31 years celebration of the putsch, led by Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.

Mr Blay said June 4 was a major turning point event that brought relief and restored dignity to the nation. The flame of freedom and justice it lit, gave to the Ghanaian a renewed sense of patriotism. Mr Blay appealed to those who share in the ideals of the uprising to help defend its gains. He rallied the cadres to support President John Evans Atta Mills to deliver on the "Better Ghana Agenda."
