Let’s support one another - Afoko to Muslims

Mr. Paul Awentami Afoko has called on Muslims in the country to lend a hand of support to each other as they join the rest of the world to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr which is commemorated today.

He particularly called on Muslims within the elephant fraternity to strive to create an inner environment of peace and faith, of tranquility, non-violence and security.

In a release issued and signed by him on July 6 2016, he underscored the importance of Eid ul-Fitr stating that its an Islamic holiday for the Muslim community in Ghana.

“It is an occasion for rejoicing and an opportunity for Muslims to gather in joy, as well as in remembrance of those less fortunate including those afflicted by poverty, hunger, conflict and disease; by collecting and sharing Zakat-ul-fitr to enable them to share in the joy of this occasion.

It is also a Day of Graduation for all those who have faithfully observed the commands of God Almighty, and an opportunity for all of us to rededicate ourselves, not only to achieving spiritual growth, but also to the cause of peace between all people of the earth. Ramadan reminds us that, our society should be an example of peaceful co-existence and cooperation, of mutual benefit and human concern”, he observed

He urged all to continue to pray fervently for peace before , during and after the elections adding that the appearance of the new moon brings to a close the holy month of Ramadan.
