The National Organiser of NPP-Germany, Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the Akufo-Addo led government to ensure the speedy economic development and social transformation of Ghana.
According to him, “nation building is the collective responsibility of all citizens irrespective of our political differences and ideological inclination” because poverty and deprivation do not know or recognise a particular political colour.
Addressing a large gathering of NPP supporters in Nurnberg over the weekend as part of his tour of the local chapters, Mr Anane-Gyinde explained that although the party has been in power for just six months, it has been able to initiate and implement major policies and programmes that are already yielding positive results.
He mentioned the tax reforms announced in the recent budget, the restoration and payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances, payment of outstanding NHIS claims, the fight against galamsey and the setting up of a $100 million Enterprise and Innovation fund the Zongo Development Fund as some of the policy initiatives and achievements of the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo.`
Mr Anane-Gyinde said “ Six months ago our opponents dismissed these as mere campaign promises, today Ghanaians are celebrating and applauding them as success stories” and assured all Ghanaians that the NPP-government would not relent in its efforts at transforming Ghana into a modern industrial economy. The National Organiser explained that the “One District, One Factory” concept is part of a bigger national industrialisation programme aimed at creating jobs as well as adding value to our products before export. He, therefore, used the opportunity to appeal to Ghanaians resident in Germany to scout for German investors willing to partner with government in this endeavour.
He announced that NPP-Germany will soon organise a workshop for its communicators at a date and venue yet to be agreed on and urged every chapter to support and sponsor at least two people to attend this very important workshop.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Nurnberg Chapter of NPP, Mr Emmanuel Owusu noted that the key to progress and development is patriotism because no nation can develop without patriotism on the part of the citizenry.
Mr Owusu insisted that “the critical question that we need to ask as Ghanaians is. What are we doing to support the Akufo-Addo-led government to raise the living standard of Ghanaians”?
He indicated that as part of the effort to support President Akufo-Addo and his team, the Nurnberg Chapter has started mobilising Ghanaian and German investors in and around Nurnberg to come and invest in Ghana.
