Let’s collectively fight coronavirus – Immigration Boss urges

The Tema Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service ACI Adwoa Sika Anim has called on Corporate Ghana to partner the security agencies, frontline health workers among others who render critical services in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

According to her, it is only when resources are pooled that the country will be able to effectively fight the virus that has negatively impacted the economy and affected social life.

Speaking during a donation to her outfit by officials of Apsonic Motors, the Assistant Commissioner of Immigiration noted that the gesture could not have come at any other time than a period where the World Health Organization is advocating for regular handwashing as part of the protocols.

“We are grateful to Apsonic Motors for the donation and we pledge to put the items into good use in order to protect our officers from the virus. We can only defeat this virus if we collectively fight. I would urge other organizations to emulate the example of Apsonic motors”, she appealed.

Sales Manager of Apsonic Motors Iddi Mohammed Saani on his part disclosed that the donation was the company’s contribution in the fight against the virus revealing that similar donations to the Police at Batsonaa near Spintex and the military at the Burma camp airforce base.

The donated items include infrared thermometer gun, nose masks, veronica buckets, alcohol based hand sanitizers and other things.

Ghana has now recorded 7,303 COVID-19 cases.Out of this number, 2,412 patients have recovered with the country recording 34 unfortunate deaths.

Greater Accra continues to be the leading region with the highest number of cases followed by the Ashanti region and the Central.
