For the first time in the political history of the country, the chairmen of political parties with representation in Parliament have created a platform to deliberate on issues of common concerns. Known as Chairmen?s Caucus, the forum will also build bridges across the political divide to enable the political leaders and their supporters to work with one accord and in harmony to deepen democracy in the country. The caucus, which was inaugurated in Accra yesterday, is a collaboration between the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) and The Netherlands Institute for Multi-party Democracy. The members of the caucus are Mr Harona Esseku, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Obed Yao Asamoah, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edmund Delle, Chairman of the Convention People's Party (CPP) and Col (retd) David Zaleringu, Chairman of the People's National Convention (CPP).
