Lawyer writes to withhold salaries of Kumasi NADMO Coordinator

A lawyer for a Kumasi-based private construction firm, Eno Company Limited has taken another legal move on behalf of a client, to recover GHC73,804.14 as judgement debt from one Frank Duodu, the Kumasi Metropolitan Coordinator for National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) by court ruling.

Then NADMO official, on 20th March 2018, according to Circuit Court in Kumasi presided over by Her Honour Lydia Osei Marfo was found guilty of charges filed against him by the construction firm, for non-payment of building materials he bought from the company.

The trial judge in her verdict available, therefore, asked the convict to pay the said amount to the General Manager of the Company and plaintiff, Edmond Kwabena Konadu but several attempts by lawyers of the plaintiff to get Duodu settle the debt is becoming unsuccessful hence, the need to write to his superior NADMO employers.

Background

The defendant was said to have contacted the Company's branch in the Ahema Kokoben in the Ashanti Region for some cement products to complete his contract project in Sunyani in Brong Ahafo Region.

According to the suit filed, the Company upon agreement supplied a consignment to the defendant where a cheque in name of Algebra Limited was issued to the plaintiff as payment of the goods on the day the materials were delivered

Upon another request, second consignment was supplied to the defendant and after delivery, the defendant then called the plaintiff to withhold the cheque issued him with explanation that a third consignment be supplied while he defendant will send a third cheque to cover the two unpaid goods already delivered.
