Lavish Spending in UK: CPP calls for transparency

There Will Be No Hiding Place For Government Misdemeanors - CPP

Following the outcry over issues raised by the CPP on Government spending in London during the recent state visit by the President of Ghana, the Chairman of the UK & Ireland Branch of the Convention People’s Party - (CPP) – Nii Armah Akomfrah in interviews on JoyFM, Radio Melody and other media houses in Ghana repeated the call by the UK& Ireland branch of the CPP for a full publication of all expenditure during the state visit to the United Kingdom and the NPP’s International Conference in London.

Mr Akomfrah said “ we all believe in Good Governance and we are simply asking the Government to demonstrate its own commitment by being transparent on this issue – what element did the British Government pay for ?, what was paid by Ghanaian tax payers and what was paid for by the NPP as` a party and individuals.”

Mr Akomfrah went on to say that Ghanaian youth during the CPP’s monthly forum in London recently vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that there is now going to be no hiding place for Government misdemeanors.”
