Latter Day Saints Assist Cape Coast Castle

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has presented a signboard worth ?3 million to the Cape Coast Castle.

It has the inscriptions "Cape Coast Museum", "Building History Museum", "Slave Dungeons and Museum Shops."

Mr Thomas Appiah, President of the church in Cape Coast, who presented the signboard, said it was in response to an appeal the authorities at the castle made when students of the Brigham Young University, visited the castle last year.

He said the church is committed to bringing peace, freedom and development and would support the museum in this direction.

Mr Raymond Agbo, Central Region Director of Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, thamked the church for the gesture and appealed for assistance with computers.
