La Dadekotopon constituency launches its website

Accra, Feb. 15, GNA - The La Dadekotopon Constituency on Friday joined the World Wide Web with the launch of its website to provide reliable information about the constituency and market its development activities.

The site, the brain-child of the Member of Parliament for the area, Nii Amasah Namoale has features that would promote constant on-line interaction between traditional and opinion leaders with the MP about the developments in the constituency. Its address is: www.la-dadekotyopon.com and has a homepage showing the face of the MP with a picture of a big cock crowing to signify the pride and fighting spirit of the people, which in Ga appellation is: "wuo gbee, La gbee," literary meaning, "when cock crows, the voice of La is heard."

Launching the site, Nii Namoale said the Constituency is blessed with numerous resources and unique traditions and culture but such information were scattered and therefore difficult to come by. He said initially, it was difficult gathering the data about the clans of La but with the help of the traditional leaders, enough information had been updated for the inhabitants of La and those abroad to access. "Now we have a place where we can advertise to the world all the big hotels, beautiful beaches, international trade centres, art galleries and rich cultures and traditions," Nii Namoale said. Mr Vincent Odotei, a businessman, who chaired the launch stressed the importance of ICT to community and nation development and said the website could served as a tool to transform the Constituency in diverse ways. He said the site could be used to promote and enhance education, entertainment, businesses and many other things in the constituency if well marketed.
