President John Dramani Mahama has convened a high-level Special Event on Reparatory Justice at the United Nations (UN) headquarters.
The event, themed “Reparatory Justice for the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans and the Racialised Chattel Enslavement of Africans,” has brought together world leaders, senior diplomats, and high-level dignitaries to address the urgent and complex issue of historical injustice.
The gathering includes heads of state, UN officials, representatives of African nations, and leaders of global civil society organisations.
Discussions will focus on actionable pathways for reparatory measures, including economic restitution, educational initiatives, and policy reforms aimed at redressing the legacy of slavery and racial discrimination.
