The struggle for the leadership role in the opposition National Democratic Congress continues even as the party reconciles its defeat in the 2016 polls. The struggle for the flagbearership position appears to have gained momentum following the introduction of 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin and Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu to the list of possible contenders for the role. The Authority took the decision after preliminary investigations into circumstances that led to dozens of youth and minors passing out at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi after an Easter Monday concert organized by the company.

Brother of former President Jon Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama, continues to make the headlines as he battles with the Ghana Revenue Authority over his failure to settle debts owed the state institution. The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) last week said it had asked two companies owned by Mr. Ibrahim Mahama to clear their indebtedness to the Authority earlier than originally planned. MBG Ltd, a heavy duty equipment dealer, and Holman Brothers, both owned by Mr. Mahama, brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, owed the GRA colossal amounts of money in import duties.
