Members of Ghana’s Parliament resumed sitting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, as the legislative body reconvened to address pressing national issues.
Several ministers of state have been summoned to appear before the House to respond to urgent questions related to their respective sectors. These sessions are part of Parliament’s oversight mandate to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective governance.
Among those expected to appear is the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. He is scheduled to address concerns regarding the payment of statutory funds, including disbursements to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), as well as other critical fiscal matters.
His appearance comes amid heightened public interest in government spending, delays in statutory transfers, and calls for improved resource allocation to local authorities.
