The Executive Secretary of the Water Resources Commission, Prof Alidu Seidu, has won the primaries to represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the by-election slated for September 30 in the Tamale Central Constituency.
Prof Alidu Seidu has secured the majority votes at the NDC primaries, which took place in Tamale.
At the end of the counting, Prof Seidu secured 840 out of a total of 1,511 votes.
This happened at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held its parliamentary primary in the Tamale Central Constituency.
Twelve aspirants contested for the chance to represent the party in the upcoming by-election on September 30, 2025, following the tragic death of the late MP, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.
The polls officially opened at 9:00 AM on September 6 and closed at 3:30 PM.
