Hello and good evening, It’s time for the big game everyone has been looking forward to and we are excited to bring you live text commentary of the match at Old Trafford.

It’s Manchester United versus Barcelona and the build up to the game has been dominated by a comment by Chris Smalling who has dared Lionel Messi to ‘bring it on’.

"It's something to relish I think. This season, we have been lucky enough to face [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Kylian] Mbappe and they are all challenges that I definitely relish and I think players at this club relish. I say bring it on."

United will have their home fans behind them at the Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leads his less fancied side to repeat their heroics in the last 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Ole has been singing Messi’s praise ahead of the game but remains hopeful of getting something valuable from tonight’s encounter.

"He's a fantastic player and he will go down in the history (of football) as one of the best individual players ever," the Manchester United manager said of Messi. He will be difficult to stop but it is never impossible. It's not like it's Messi against Manchester United - it's (Luis) Suarez, (Philippe) Coutinho, (Ivan) Rakitic, (Arturo) Vidal.

"There's so many good players, we cannot just focus on one player. We know we have to play against 11 of them."

Lionel Messi is in a great vein of form scoring 43 goals in 40 games this season and Barcelona fans once again expect him to light up Old Trafford with another majestic performance.

The Spanish giants also have Luis Suarez and Coutinho in their ranks and the former Liverpool players are not new to the hostile environment expected from the United fans tonight.

Marcus Rashford is likely to start after missing the game against Wolves. Doubts remain on Ander Herrera and Matic whereas Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia are out of the game.

Barcelona have no new injury worries and memories of the 2011 final win over United will serve as motivation for Valverde’s men.

Manchester United have never lost a home European match against Barcelona and will want to keep their invincibility at home when it comes to playing Barcelona.

Game starts at 19:00 and we’ll serve you with updates from that as well Juventus’ visit Ajax.
