LIVE UPDATES: Ghana Premier League (Week 15)

The first round of the Ghana Premier League comes to an end this afternoon The first round of the Ghana Premier League comes to an end this afternoon

Hello good afternoon and welcome to our Live text update of the Ghana Premier League.

The first round of the Zylofon Cash Premier League comes to an end this weekend with some exciting fixtures to be played as Asante Kotoko host defending Ghana Premier League champions at home and Hearts of Oak welcome league leaders Medeama to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko will be looking for a win in this fixture after drawing away to Liberty Professionals in mid-week. The Porcupine Warriors were able to pick a point at Dansoman after going down by a lone goal scored early in the game by ex-player Edwin Tuffour Frimpong who was recently released by the club. Kotoko got the equaliser through captain Amos Frimpong. The game ended 1-1.

Asante Kotoko’s unimpressive run in the league continues as the team currently lies fifth on the league log with 21 points after week 14. With the acquisition of new players into the team, Kotoko will be hoping to end the first round with a win.

However, Aduana Stars will provide a tough opposition to Kotoko at home. Aduana Stars are in the relegation bottom with four outstanding matches to play. The ‘ogya club’ defeated Bechem United by 1-0 in week 14 fixture.

Aduana Stars have a formidable team and can pull a surprise at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this afternoon.

At the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Accra Hearts of Oak will be searching for a win against league leaders Medeama in this week 15 fixture.

It will be a tough game for Hearts of Oak against the league leaders who have been very impressive and difficult to beat.

Hearts have been struggling in the first round after relocating to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. The Phobians lost away to Inter Allies by a lone goal at the Tema Sports Stadium in week 14. The win was Kenichi’s first win over his former club.
