L‘Oreal West Africa, a cosmetics and beauty company, has commissioned a multi-purpose building for the Abokobi Health Post in the Ga-East Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, to boost maternal health services in the community.

They also presented 120 sets of furniture, four desktop computers and some beauty products to the management of the hospital.

The structure which would serve pregnant women in the municipality would also be used for diabetic demonstrations and adolescent health management.

Mr. Idorenyan Enang, Central and West Africa Managing Director of L’Oreal who commissioned the facility and presented the items, said the gesture was part of activities marking the company’s annual Citizen’s Day celebration.

Mr. Enang, said the company would be monitoring the facility to access its effectiveness and benefit to the community, and added that, the company would also consider investing in other development projects in the community.

As part of the celebration, the staff of L’Oreal painted the multi-purpose structure and cleaned the hospital premises.

Dr. Julius Dadebo, Director of Health Services at Ga-East, called on the authorities to upgrade the Abokobi Health Post to a polyclinic status, saying that it could no longer serve the health needs of the growing population in the municipality.

He thanked L’Oreal for the gesture, stating that the facility would promote maternal and adolescent health in the community.
