Kwesi Pratt Demands Appearance Before NRC

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr is demanding an opportunity to cross-examine a witness, Samuel Addae Amoako, who has alleged that Mr Pratt led soldiers to kill him.

Kwesi Pratt has denied the allegation in a letter to the commission, questioning their failure to allow him an opportunity to cross-examine the witness. Counsel for Pratt, Biadela Akpadzi-Mortey of De-le-ric Law Consult says in a letter that, the commission’s failure to give his client that opportunity is against the basic rule of natural justice.

Mr Akpadzi-Mortey told JOY FM that the commission must recall the witness to stand for cross examination in the interest of justice and fairplay.

Mr Samuel Addae Amoako is not the first to accuse Kwesi Pratt of his alleged involvement in human rights abuses during the PNDC era. Others including W.O. Adjei Boadi who has admitted killing some six persons has alleged that Kwesi Pratt is responsible for the arrest of Kwaku Baako Jnr in the early 80’s.

But his lawyer says no demand was made for cross examination of the witness because other avenues had been utilized to respond to the allegations.
