The Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute (KNII) has commended the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) on its success at curbing the spread of the COVID-19.

“We congratulate you on your successful massive repulse of the COVID-19 assault on your people, alongside international support to help eradicate it from the face of the earth,” it said.

A release from the Institute and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said it was worth noting that the stringent scientific public health approaches to curtail the cases in China, stand as a novel success in the fight against an unforeseen pandemic when it seemed all hope was lost.

“We are proud of China because Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the father of the African personality and founder of modern-day Ghana, made a firm decision despite huge pressure from the Western World, to establish diplomatic ties with the PRC, which was followed by the signing of the Treaty of Friendship on August 18, 1961, in China,” it said.

The release said the near devastation of Wuhan by the pandemic, did not throw the PRC off-board in her continuous development plan, but drew her closer to courage and strength, borne of a devastating threat.

“The KNII, indeed in the spirit of solidarity, is once again glad about the victory over the pandemic anchored on Chinese resilience, discipline, unity and dedicated leadership,” the release said.
