Sekondi June 22, GNA - Kwame Nkrumah Floating Production Storage and Offloading System (FPSO), has arrived at the Jubilee Oil Field, after five weeks journey from Singapore where it was built.
Naval Captain Emmanuel Kofi Ankamah, Captain of Ghana Naval Vessel, conveyed journalists to witness the arrival of the FPSO.
The FPSO would receive fluids from a subsea oil well and process it on board to produce crude oil, which would be exported to a refinery by shuttle tankers.
The offloading system, which is an important component of the Phase One development plan at the oil field, would be capable of processing more than 120,000 barrels of oil per day and inject about 230,000 barrels of water per day and 160 million standard cubic feet per day of produced gas. The vessel is 60 meters wide and 330 meters in length and has the storage capacity of 1. 6 million barrels.
In order to support the operation, the vessel has a 90 MVV gas turbine generation plant and provides accommodation for a total of 120 operating personnel. 22 June 10
