Kwahu East District held its General Assembly meeting at Abetifi the district capital, Abetifi on the 25th April, 2018.

A meeting which was fully attended by Presiding Member, District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director all Department Heads and the Hon. Assembly Members.

Among the issues discussed were the address delivered by the District Chief Executive, consideration of the executive committee report and other matters.

A motion on the Ban of Jackpot operations within the district was laid to the house by the Hon. Presiding Member, Nana Agyare Yeboah Asuamah 1.

The house unanimously agreed that the activities of Jackpot operators should banned in the District considering it's effect on the school going children. The assembly members complained bitterly about how jackpot operation is affecting education within the district.

Jackpot is a game that is getting roots within the district, and children of school going age are predominantly involved in this operation, which is greatly affecting education within the district, instead of children getting time for their books they rather go and play Jackpot. Aside the Educational challenge, most parents complain of theft cases which is as a results of this Jackpot Operations.

To help solve this menace, the District Chief Executive Hon. Isaac Agyapong, told the house to all team up to address the issue and he the Chief Executive is committed to what is good for the citizenry.

The entire General Assembly agreed, and the resolution was passed that from 26th April, 2018, Operation of Jackpot within Kwahu East is seized.
