Kumbungu NCCE intensifies tax education

The Kumbungu District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has intensified the education on tax payment to increase the country's revenue.

Mr Mohammed Abukari, the Acting District Director, speaking at separate durbars to convince community members to honour their tax obligation stressed the importance of tax payment.

The communities in which the NCCE embarked on the education included the Kumbungu, Nwogu, Zangbalin, Mbanaayili and the Dalun township.

The Commission also sensitized artisans, Tailors and dressmakers, Market women, butchers, Shop owners, hairdressers and farmers in Kumbungu and surrounding communities.

Mr Abukar who spoke to the Ghana News Agency after the exercise said the aim was to help the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to widen its tax net for more revenue to develop the country.

He commended the GRA for funding the Commission to embark on the sensitization exercise and assured that the NCCE would always embark on its mandate for the needed results.
