Kufuor tours the UK

Mr John Agyekum Kufuor, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), arrives in London on Saturday, July 8, at the head of a high-powered party delegation, for a one-week visit of the UK during which he will meet with business leaders and interact with Ghanaians.

A statement issued today by the party's branch in London said a fund raising garden party will be held for Mr Kufuor at East Dulwich soon after his arrival on Saturday afternoon and address a rally at Manor House on Sunday, July 9.

Expected to the address the rally are Mr J.H. Mensah, minority leader in Parliament, Nana Akufo Addo, MP for Abuakwa, Dr Kofi Apraku, MP for Offinso North, Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyeman MP for New Juaben North and Madam Hawa Yakubu, a prospective parliamentary candidate.

Mr Kufuor is expected to hold press and radio interviews to explain the party's policies to its supporters in London.

The statement said apart from raising funds, the visit, will afford Mr Kufuor the opportunity to meet on one-on-one basis with Ghanaians in the UK and share his aspirations with them as well as listen to their concerns.

The visit is part of a tour of foreign countries embarked upon by the NPP leadership which has taken them to Canada, the US and Germany, among others, the statement said.
