Kufuor's Biggest Mistake

he Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwasi Pratt has said the worst mistake the former President, Agyekum Kufuor made during his tenure of office was to have appointed Dr Charles Wereko Brobby, popularly known as ‘Tarzan” as Chaiman of the VRA Board, which he claimed, made NPP unpopular.

Explaining his point on “Kokrokoo”, Mr Pratt said, some of the major difficulties the NPP government experienced came from the Volta River Authority (VRA), the board of which outfit was chaired by Dr Brobby. He added that, another event which added to their problems is the Ghana@50 celebration which was also steered by Dr Brobby.

According to Mr Pratt, the former President should not have appointed Dr Brobby in the first place because the latter campaigned against the NPP before they came to power in the year 2000.

Mr Pratt was speaking in reaction to criticisms and allegations Dr Brobby leveled on him and other two people, namely, Ben Ephson of Daily Dispatch newspaper and Ametor Kwame of Ghana Palava newspaper for calling him (Brobby) a thief, and alleging that he had embezzled Ghana@50 celebration money.

Mr. Pratt however suggested that, the government should investigate Dr Brobby very well because he has really caused great financial loss to the state.
