The Metro Chief Executive of the Kumasi, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has observed that Mr. J.A. Kufuor is the best President the world ever produced for the fact that he (JAK) had adequately prepared himself for the Presidency, which no other world leader had done.

Explaining his point, Jumah said President Kufuor had served in various capacities in different regimes, thus gaining lots of experience before ascending to the high office of the land.

Launching the special skill training programme for the unemployed in Kumasi, the KMA boss indicated that the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI), the establishment of the National Reconciliation Commission and the Wealth Creation programmes were all exhibits of Prez Kufuor?s experience in governance.

?All these were there and leaders of previous regimes knew them but could not bring them to bear on the people? he said, and concluded that the election of President Kufuor was a divine intervention.

Throwing light on the special agric training programme for the unemployed, Jumah said as at December 2003, over 3,000 traders, carpenters, fitters, hawkers and other informal sector operators had benefitted from the programme.
The KMA, he disclosed, had spent over ?300 million on the programme to train small-scale businessmen and women to enable them work for the growth and expansion of their businesses and help them create more jobs and wealth.
According to the MCE, each beneficiary would be assisted with ?1.8 million worth of snail stock to begin the snail rearing venture and three cages valued at ?2.4 million with a capacity for 30 animals which would be given out in addition, for the grass-cutter rearing exercise.
The programme, organized by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in collaboration with the Centre for Bio-diversity Utilization and Development (CBUD) and the Metro office of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, was undertaken because of its immense job and wealth creation potentials for the employment in the metropolis.
Dr. Amoako Atta, Director General of CBUD stated that his outfit had been able to train 4,000 people, with 2,000 of them already working and receiving close supervision, monitoring and regulating exercises.
He advised the participants not to underestimate the training programme since it provided self-reliance and helped many people.
Dr. Amoako Atta, a lecturer at the KNUST declared begging for alms as inappropriate for Ghanaian youth, saying equipping people with skills created millionaires.
