Kufuor did NOT visit Amoateng

New York is far away from Washington -Agyepong
The Presidential Press Secretary Mr. Kwabena Agyepong has denied reports suggesting that President Kufuor, during his recent trip to the United States, paid a visit to Mr. Eric Amoateng the MP for Nkoranza-North, who is currently held in a US jail for alleged drug offences.

"It is not true that the President visited Mr. Amoateng who is being held in New York. President Kufuor was in Washington and never travelled out of Washington, where he met with President Bush at the Oval Office at the White House.

Anyone who knows the geography of America would agree with me that New York is far away from Washington", he said.

Mr. Agyepong said President Kufuor's visit to the U.S. was at the invitation of President Bush.
