Kufuor Is A Hypocrite

NDC Propaganda Secretary Fumes & Says

His Attempts To Save Akufo Addo Is ‘Hanya’

News Desk Report

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor in his latest of moves to defend his party’s Flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the entangling web of allegations of his involvement with illicit drug use, did not only receive mist feelings within his own party as reported on Monday by this paper; it has also been condemned in no uncertain terms by a section of the general public, including Mr. Richard Quashigah, the Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Quashigah has taken a serious swipe at ex-President Kufuor in his failed rescue mission in order to save the badly soiled image of his party and its Flagbearer, saying the action by Mr. Kufuor is hypocritical and so therefore, must be treated with a pinch of salt.
‘It was expected that Former President John Agyekum will necessarily come to the aid of Akufo-Addo, his successor, as the NPP Flagbearer and therefore it’s not surprising to majority of Ghanaians who listened to his interview in which he said he has never seen Akufo-Addo taking any narcotic drugs over forty years that he has known him”, Quashigah stated.
‘Mr. Kufuor’s stance on the matter obviously is the smartest thing he could do in his position even if he knows for a fact that the opposite is the case”, the NDC’s propaganda secretary indicated.
‘Given that Mr. Kufuor is aware of Nana Akufo-Addo’s illicit drug use, stating that fact would have been suicidal for the smooth sailing glorious political and statesmanship he is lazing around, currently much to the applause of the blue eye NPP membership”, he added further.
Mr. Richard Quashigah without mincing his words said, attempts by former President Kufuor to discount completely merits in the Wikileaks reports however little, exposes his hypocrisy, and therefore, must be ignored.
“For instance, describing Julian Assange as a “stubborn child” that publishes confidential as well as classified information magnifies the usual double standards of former President Kufuor, since his analogy in his interview with Adakabre Frimpong-Manso on that fateful day itself, lends credibility to Akufo-Addo’s perceived illicit drug use he Mr. Kufuor had attempted to discount”, he hinted.
According to the NDC’s propaganda secretary, what must be borne in mind is that the Wikileaks reports are in two parts. One is the USA’s conviction and conclusion on the character of some personalities, and what some Ghanaians had told American officials which may be exaggerated
The part which is reflectively worrying is the US’s negative conviction and belief about the character of highly placed personalities such as Nana Akufo-Addo. In his case, the Americans judge him obviously based on some thorough investigations as one who is not organised, arrogant and formal, a womanizer as well as user of illicit drugs.
“Can you imagine how lowly the international community would have perceived this dear nation of ours if Akufo-Addo were the president of this country”?

“Especially when the world’s superpower has judged him as one who indulges in vices that are affront to accepted norms; Ghana would have totally lost whatever credibility it has today considering the fact that the use of illicit drugs is an international crime”

According to Mr. Quashigah, the confidence repose in this nation for which reason, the nation continues to attract legitimate direct foreign inflows would have been cut out.

One can understand the frustration this nemesis has brought unto the NPP. Instead of the struggle in confusing circle to bury how the world perceives Nana Akufo-Addo and by extension the NPP, it will be prudent for them to devise more potent strategies that can clean their stable of the canker

Perhaps Gabby Otchere-Darko who appears today as the NPP’s master strategist will come up with some fine lines to blur the indelible poisonous and cancerous dent this ganja business has left the NPP with; Mr. Quashigah concludes, as he calls on Ghanaians to treat ex-President Kufuor’s political gimmick with the contempt it deserves.
