Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu contends that Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has performed commendably in his role and should not face impeachment.

An impeachment petition has been filed at the office of the President by former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu, seeking the removal of Kissi Agyebeng from office.

Amidu cites among others, allegations of procurement breaches in the purchase of vehicles for the Office, and abuses involving judges and the administration of justice.

The petition to remove Agyebeng as Special Prosecutor has been forwarded by President Akufo-Addo to the Chief Justice, but Martin Kpebu insists that this action is unnecessary.

"We have not reached that point yet; therefore, it was unnecessary for the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, to take that course. It's good to criticize him, but having him impeached is wrong," he stated.

"It's not fair; generally, he has performed well as Special Prosecutor. Kissi is independent-minded and very outspoken. He embodies integrity, so why impeach him if he is doing the right thing?" he expressed on Adom FM.
