Following what appeared to be the end of a long-standing rivalry after President John Dramani Mahama encouraged the two dancehall artistes to hug during the recent Ghana World Cup fundraising event, Stonebwoy has shared his thoughts.
Speaking during the 2026 World Cup fundraising launch at the Kempinski Hotel, the dancehall artiste delivered a cryptic message, suggesting that his rivalry with Shatta Wale may not end anytime soon.
Citing a comparison with popular local football clubs Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, Stonebwoy explained that just as the two teams can never truly unite due to what he describes as “healthy competition,” the same applies to his feud with Shatta Wale.

He added that both camps would continue to “keep their competitive energy.”
“This is a very important call to all of us. You know that Kotoko and Hearts can never be one. They are two different teams that must continue to maintain that competitive energy to bring joy to the nation. If I say this, you know what I mean,” he stated.

Stonebwoy further noted that his camp would maintain the healthy competition with Shatta Wale and urged the latter to do the same.
“The minister said it is a healthy competition, which I believe it is. But we just have to be mindful, so we tone down things that could harm the spirit of this competition, especially the vulgarity, which is rarely found in the BHIM Nation camp,” he added.
