Korle-Bu will soon be paperless - Bawumia

Government is working to ensure that the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital goes paperless soon, Vice President Dr Bawumia has said.

He implied, payments would be done electronically and the printing of folders and cards would be done away with.

Dr Bawumia who delivered the keynote address at a public lecture held by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, today in Accra stated that hospitals would be linked up electronically to a common platform.

He also indicated that the country is about to experience a massive development in the health sector with regards to digitization.

“The health sector has not been left behind. We are in the process of digitizing medical records to make retrieval of information much easier for diagnosis. We’ve been speaking to the CEO of Korlebu Teaching hospital and thanks to their hard work and dedication, Korlebu will soon go paperless. Very soon. We will make sure that the process goes across every facility in the country” he said.

The vice president noted further that government is working towards ensuring the availability of essential and affordable medicines to Ghanaians at all levels of health care delivery in the country.
